Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: June 2025
By hiring items from Mad Dash Prop Shop (“we”, “us”, or “our”), you (“the hirer”) agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully before confirming any booking.
Hire Period
Props are hired on a weekly basis.
The rental period starts on the day of pick-up and runs for seven days. We include a one-day grace period for returns.
For example: if you collect on a Monday, your props are due back the following Monday, with Tuesday as the grace day.
If items are not returned by 5:00 p.m. on the grace day, an additional week's hire fee will apply.
Booking and Payment
We have a minimum hire requirement of $50.
Your booking is not confirmed until you receive an invoice from us.
Full payment must be made prior to collection or delivery of items.
We accept payment via bank transfer, cash, or credit/debit card (in person only).
Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit may be required and will be specified in your quote or invoice.
This deposit will be refunded within five business days of return, provided all items are returned in the same condition.
Cancellations
We understand that schedules can change, and we're happy to work with you to ensure you get your items when you need them.
If a cancellation is made more than 7 days before the hire date, there is no charge.
Cancellations made within 7 days may incur a 25% restocking fee.
Collection and Return
Props must be collected and returned at the agreed times. As we operate by appointment only, there may not be anyone on-site if you arrive outside your scheduled time.
Late returns may incur additional charges.
Please ensure all items are transported securely and protected from weather or damage.
Condition of Hire Items
All props are hired “as is” and must be returned in the same condition they were collected.
Any damage, loss, or alterations must be reported immediately.
Repair or replacement costs will be deducted from the security deposit
or invoiced to the hirer.
Props must not be altered, painted, drilled, or modified in any way without prior written approval.
Liability
Mad Dash Prop Shop is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage caused by the use or misuse of our items. It is the hirer's responsibility to ensure all items are used safely and appropriately.
Usage
Hired items are for decorative or display purposes only, unless otherwise stated. Items must not be altered, painted, drilled, or modified in any way without prior written consent.
Availability
Not all items are listed online. If you're after something specific, just ask! We may have it off-site or in storage. All bookings are subject to availability at the time of confirmation.
Appointments
Mad Dash Prop Shop operates by appointment only. Please contact us in advance to arrange a time for viewing, collection, or return.
Extended Rental Discounts
We offer extended rental discounts to our customers. Extended rental discounts will be applied as follows:
- 1st week: Full price
- 2nd week: 75% of price
- 3rd week: 50% of price
- 4th week and on: 25% of price
We are happy to discuss additional discounts and pricing for run-of-show and seasonal rentals.
Show and Tell Items
We generally do not allow items to be taken free of charge "on memo." If you need to try an item for approval, we may, on a limited basis, offer a one-day discounted rate. Any rental that goes beyond the allotted time period will be charged at the full weekly rate.
Modifications and Repairs
Props must not be altered, painted, drilled, or modified in any way without prior written consent. If a prop is damaged on set, contact us immediately. We will advise you about your options to repair, replace, or repurchase. We do charge for damaged and lost props.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia. By hiring from us, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of its courts.
